July 2007 - New OS editions
This month:
Its been an interesting month . So many people are upgrading back to 2000/2003/XP since
they didn't research how crap Vista is and now going back to something that works and
doesn't take a 10 ghz CPU and 8 gig of ram to run well .
More people are interested in non Microsoft operating systems - Linux/Freebsd/etc
trying out these Live disc's and trying Linux on USB sticks.

MS Windows "7" in 2009/2010
What to expect well honestly I wouldn't waste time and money on it if
XP and Vista have anything to show what the next editions of Windows is like .
Why change Windows editions , it seems pointless after 2000 or 2003.
New Windows editions (XP/Vista/Windows 7):
Using more ram and resources
Need more hdd space to install
comes on bigger install media
less choice in setup phase
more sevices turned on by default
more insecure
more crap ms drivers
newer edition of IE
newer edition of WMP
newer edition of OE
Newer edition of DirectX
Newer edition of Dotnet
New wanky GUI

ReactOS
This is a great idea , its basicly a reversed engineered Windows
but not done by Microsoft , so at the moment it might look like an old
Windows NT/9x edition of Windows but its slowly getting their.
Once its nice and stable and works with:
Firefox , OpenOffice, Foxit PDF reader , Netmeter, statbar
abiword , DC++ , Thunderbird , Nero , DVDshink then it might be worth
getting people to drop XP and try these free windows lookalike instead
It will work on older hardware better aswell

Sabayon Linux
New edition of Sabayon Linux is coming out and by the looks of things
they are FINALY LISTENING to WHAT PEOPLE WANT
and that is a CHOICE and FREEDOM to choose what
to install on the OS before it preloads crap onto the hdd/system :
Announcing Sabayon Linux Core (Install Method) lxnay Thu Jun 28 11:22:55 2007. Tags: Altro
Sabayon Linux is happy to announce a new way to install Sabayon Linux.
Many people complained (WANTED/REQUESTED) by the lack of a packages selector
by too much bloat on the DVD and, most of all, the lack of a minimal installation.
This is what Sabayon Linux Core Environment is.
