GTA "4" for PC (Windows) 'OFFICALY' annouced by Rockstar
No surpise its on PC
the amount of people asking for it on the PC
and the unconfirmed email that a website sent
to ask them about the non working PC edition recently.
Good thing about GTA 4 PC
- Its coming on x86 PC's
- Gives the user the freedom to
use KEYBOARD and mouse
- They added BACK Multiplayer
(GTA 1 had had MP built in) , GTA 2 had MP built in)
- Online only multiplayer cross platform play
Bad thing about GTA 4 PC
- it took so long
- its bound to be a console port
- it may have crappy colors on console
- it uses Windows Games Live
(gay online account stuff , wont work on Win2000)
- no LAN cross platform with PC/PS3/Xbox360
- no cross platform mentioned with PS3's only Xbox360
Things GTA 4 PC AU edition needs
- NOT to be reduced or features cut like console AU copies
- Needs to be over 18 + only game (above reason)
-
Needs to offer a proper Seperate Stand Alone Dedicated Server for Lan
parties/ISPS/CLANS to host dedicated servers without a copy of the game
- Needs to support Spilt screen PC like console games have been hoging that side of things

Two websites I would recommend to find places
in Australia is:
realestate.com.au & domain.com.au
Domain.com.au lets you search by carpark/carport value
were realestate.com.au doesnt
BE CAREFULL of looking online , I have found a LOT of
places on realestate.com.au has FALSE information and
OUTDATES PHOTOS .
Tips when moving:
Work out how much you can afford
, how many bedrooms , car ports you need
If you can afford it some semi decent places
in Brisbane with 3 bedroom is AU$300-AU$340
a week .
If you have a LOT of stuff , then you may need
a shed .
If you use Cable (Bigpond/Optus) then you may
want to see if the cable box's are on the outside
of the houses/unit .
Will you get Naked/ADSL/ADSL2 , check out the
exchange lists online and see if the suburbs
support ADSL/NakedADSL/ADSL2
Before you check out the places,
Check online , print out places you like ,
goto that surburb and check out the places
from outside, this gives you a more TRUTHFULL
view at the property then what is online .
Check the places for White ants , THREE
places I viewed recently were infected
with white ants NO MENTION OF THIS
on the ad .
Take a Refadex when your going to
check out all the places ,
if you know the address before you
leave then plan out which house to visit
1st/2nd/3rd etc , thus saving on petrol
and time running around.
When it comes time to goto the real estate
MORE PAPER WORK IS BETTER , its amazing
how many times you need to SIGN and
show proof of incoming/address/id/etc
If you have a car that is unregoed
it is actually CHEAPER to get it towed
to the new location then get a one
day pass + one day insurance .
(1 day pass about 20 bucks , 1day insurance 62 bucks)
When your traveling around the suburbs
make sure your print out lists what
real estate its with and drop into those
real estaes to find out the public viewing times/dates
its a good idea to time the visits when your in
the suburb .
Once you get the place , take PHOTOs of ALL damage or
things that need to be fixed , if needed type out
extra things that need to be mentioned .
Note that some realesates dont allow pets
and smoking inside any more also you only get told
this once you paided bond and get the keys .
More helpers you can help you the better .
Start packing ASAP , plastic box's from
kmart/cheap places can be picked up 10 to 12
bucks and work out better then card board boxs.
If you get a place with wood/timber floor boards
you might want to get some carpet off cuts cheap
and put the carpet off cuts under the tables/chairs/etc
so it doesnt mark the timber floor .

Long wait for new tech micro gaming PC
I am considering waiting and saving for a new small gaming PC
that is portable to take to Lan Parties on my Pagsta Motobike .
I guess its looking like Aug - Oct 2009 time frame for the new PC
Why so long:
1. new tech is available and cheap . 2. Cant ride the bike till Aug 2009
3. save up pennies
Small to the size of an Asus pundit Case (miniatx mobo)

New Firewire 3000 (Due Oct 2008)
10 gig Ethernet onboard or plug in
Cat6a lead
Pci Express v2.0 (v3 is due 2010) video card with Opengl v3.0
Maybe a Blueray Optical Disc burner (high def blank discs not cheap enough yet)
Quad Core Intel CPU with LGA1160 socket pin
Linux programs:
* Web Surfing on Linux - Firefox or Iceweasel
* Bit Torrent on Linux - Transmission or Deluge
* MSN on Linux - aMSN or pigin
* VNC - Tight VNC or xrpd
* Webcam - Cheese - http://www.gnome.org/projects/cheese/
* Open Office - Free Office Suite
http://download.openoffice.org/
* Download Manager Downloader for X -
(NOT accelerator ) FTP/HTTP (not p2p)
http://www.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/
* Frostwire (for those that use Limewire/frostwire
on Windows) http://www.frostwire.com/
* Teamspeak for Linux
(this has a good setup program for it)
I use ts a bit , its good theirs a linux client
http://www.gotteamspeak.com/
* Abiword - Free word processor
I like this more then Open Office , its small ,
lightweight and does what I need
http://www.abisource.com/download/
* Foxit PDF Reader for Linux
I use this freeware PDF reader on Windows and
its great , LESS BLOATED then adobes
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/desklinux/
* XnView - freeware image viewer ,
use the Windows one all the time , its portable
Xnview allows picture to PDF export which I like
* TrueCrypt - Encypt and password protect data/files/folders
* Skype - its on linux with video and sound aswell
* LinuxDC++ - Port of the Windows DC++
I havent found a Linux program like Statbar , Dumeter or
MPC yet (same look , same style , same features)
I wish Firefox and Thunderbird had Portable linux editions
Portable is possible its called STATIC on Linux but it doesnt
look like its not common or popular unlike Windows portable
apps werethey are VERY POPULAR and well used .
Don't use Kazza OR LIMEWIRE
(Free or pro)
Update to the latest current popular p2p BIT TORRENT
Recommended Bit Torrent Clients
uTorrent - Freeware (bought out by offical BT) (Windows ONLY)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTorrent
http://www.utorrent.com/
or
Deluge (open source) (Windows/Linux/Mac)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deluge_(BitTorrent_client)
http://deluge-torrent.org/
Also when using Peer2peer is a good idea to use
a program like PEER GUARDIAN
http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PeerGuardian
If you want to use the Limewire
network then use
Cabos (open source) (Win/Linux/Mac)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabos
or Frostwire (Freeware) (Win/Linux/Mac)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FrostWire
To find bit torrent files its the easiest p2p ever
just ask some other people that use p2p
what their fav public / private tracker is
but I do recommend to AVOID trackers
such as PIRATE BAY , Demonoid
as they get WAY to much attention by the
large rich anti p2p companys (RIAA/MPAA)
( USE PeerGuardian !)
BE CAREFULL OF RIGGED TRACKERS
SETUP by "Anti P2p" companys to LURE
you into using their tracker eg Honeypots
(peer guarding helps avoiding these)

Update: 30 June 2008
Firefox v3 Portable now works with adblock (not the plus one) , no script
and Littlefox theme . Its now useable.
For the anime fans , its Firefox-tan :

I got Firefox v3 Portable (Windows) today (19-June-2008)
I wasnt impressed , it seems to use the same ram + more of portable launcher
(Which stays in ram in the background now with v3)
and it does NOT work with adblock ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10 )
Yes it works with Adblock noob plus but I dont like its crap interface .
I will be sticking with Firefox v2 until adblock works with v3
or theirs a real reason to keep upgrading software.
I am all for upgrading software if it really honestly adds more value
and real reason behind it but if your been seeing whats happening
with MS Windows , upgrading it seems to be a waste of cash/time/effort.
One that side note , if your still using Windows 2000 PRO or XP
stay with it . Dont be in a hurry to downgrade to Vista (WinMEv2)
or install SP3 (XP) and if your still using 2k (keep it)

More details about people against Games for Windows here:
http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=boycott
I Installed Ubuntu EEE Linux on my Asus EEE
it works with the SD 4 gig Drive thats in the Laptop .
It doesnt seem to work well with the battery level ,
I found a tweek on the internet to disable that upon start up.
Tip for anyone installing Ubuntu EEE , REMEMBER your
password and username . When it first starts it bugs
you for them unlike Asus Custom Xandros that auto
logs you into it .
Another bad thing I found is PRINT SCREEN doesnt
work like the Asus Custom Xandros Linux install
with it , it would pop up a program asking you to
take a screen shot .
Windows takes a snap shot , ohh no
it doesnt work in this Ubuntu Linux
you have to launch and INSTALL the ksnapshot
tool yourself no printscreen button 4 u .
I am having trouble as Bigponds Free traffic
mirror is incompete and missing files
compared to other Ubuntu Deb update servers
Pic here shows the drama , linux keeps wanting
to add other mirrors since Bigpond is holding back
files in its mirror .
