My views on Anime and USA Dubs Vs Fansubs and Anime legit in Australia
I recently talked to a person that didn't like my views on Anime and I would like to express my views publicly
you might not like them but everyone has their own choices , views and tastes . I don't like the taste of coke
for example , but its very popular , does that make me right or wrong . No , it means I have my own choice of dislike
and likes and others have their own. The Whole Population does not have to like the same thing.
USA Dubs vs Asian Audio with Subs (Fansub or licensed)
I only like Asian made Anime in Asian Speaking Language and subs.
(I do enjoy some [not all] American and non asian cartoons , eg Lilo and Stitch,
Transformers, astro boy, new starwars tv show)
(Anime as I define is Cartoon Animation that comes from Asian , starts off in Audio Language ,
is subbed and then altered and changed [names, voices, references] to suit USA childreen/USA
people market then takes longer to filter to non USA english speaking places, eg Australia)
Just to Clarify again :-
Cartoon = Animation (TV/Media) in English as its original audio source, animation made in USA/non asia
Comic Book = Physical Book that depicks with pictures and words a story line without animation, made in USA/non asia
Anime = Animation (TV/Media) in Asian (Japanese) as its original audio source, animation made in asia
then re 'licensed' to USA to be altered , edited , changed and USA voice dub's added for world wide English
speaking market
Manga = Physical Book that depicks with pictures and words a story line without animation, made in asia
(Note: The amount of times in my life that people call Manga , anime is VERY BIG and VERY ANNOYING after the 100'th time)
Why I don't support buying ""USA licensed Anime" in Australia
Note: COST is not main factor of the issue
- I don't support buying anime that has DUEL (both) American USA Dubs and Asian Subs.
I want to support anime in its original format with subs added without american voices at all on the media
- Anime companies in USA/AU dont support the English speaking Market that wants subbed legit anime , why support them ?
- I don't want to support anime that takes a HUGE LONG TIME to go from Asia , to USA , to AU (1 to 6 years)
- I don't want to support australian anime re distrubution companies that dont support the market of anime watchers
that dont want to support subs only anime media
- Cost - Start off cheaper (just like USA movie/tv discs) , a lot of series are 10 to 25 eps . Now when you look at TV show boxsets lately a season (11 to 22-25) is like 25 to 70 bucks . Why can't anime be like that from the begining ?
Digital Download:-
- If I could buy/pay for the latest Asian Anime eps at AU$0.05 cents to AU$1.00 via Digital Download
I would consider it . Considering Bleach would be the first series I would support and often with it
its 25 eps per ARC (not season) then 25 bucks for 25 eps would be like a USA DVD Boxset.
At the moment most digital download anime is via USA based companies and its old shows which I have no interested in , they are old , chances are its OVER and finished and I could get it on Retail DVD.
The whole point I find of Digital Download is to support something at the SAME time around the world at a REDUCED PRICED then the Retail cost (shop bought) and FASTER then waiting for Retail market.
What I am saying and not saying
Offer choice for the Anime English speaking market :-
Sure release Animation thats made in Asia with USA voice dubs and very low quality dubs by USA companies BUT
- START TO OFFER ANIME DIRECT FROM ASIAN COMPANIES with subs THEY put on their own ANIME and export
to USA/AU/English speaking countries AHEAD of time of the Dub'ed releases and offer the non USA dubb'ed releases
CHEAPER to the legit market .
- Release Anime season boxsets cheaper without USA Dubs in Australia and USA
(Also clearly label these boxsets displaying warning like NO ENGLISH AUDIO
so idiots dont buy it then bitch ,ohh no series xzy i got cheap off this company has no english audio)
- Release Anime Movies with Eng Subs at the same time the Movie comes out in Asia
EG Bleach and Naruto , I would of enjoyed to pay to see the Bleach and Naruto movies
at the local Brisbane Movies then WAIT A YEAR too YEAR and 6 months to watch it.
- Release Anime a lot faster in Australia and NO not everyone enjoys watching Dragon Ball Z on AU TV in the morning
(actually some people watching that show feel like throwing up)
Update:
Just reading about upcoming Bleach Anime Upcoming eps and its a typical example what I am saying , notice
the R2 (Japan) DVD's and its date you can buy them , yet the USA ones are FARRRRRRRRR behind

Love-ru - New AWESOME anime series , this series ROCKS !!

Its one of these series I like for the echhi level and bit of fanservice
So basicly you have this poor guy thats not good with girls
stuff keeps happening when he is about to confess ,
suddently a cute cosplay young alien girl with a tail
comes into his life and house (naked at first in the bathtub then
his bedroom) and he is the attention of the whole school.
Of course theirs a love triangle and all sorts of wacky stuff
about to happen to this poor bastard .
Ive only watched ep 01 , cant wait to watch more ,
I highly recommend everyone to watch this one

Ohh its another one of these series that has a transformation sequence
which when watching it she seems to be ultra sensitve around the tail
area and gets her self off a bit (not that I am complaining !)

Whats the point of buying (legit) Hentai when its censored ?
Browsing EzyDVD (DVD online store for Video EZY chain stores
and I see they have Hentai .
I am like COOOL , clicky clicky on link to get this:
Please note: All Adult product has been censored in order to meet the R18+ rating
defined by the Office of Film and Literature Classification. It is illegal for us to sell product rated X.
Thats really CRAP , whats the point of Hentai with censorship.
At least its in 4:3 full screen format and not WS with half the screen black.

To my huge disapointment both Flomp and DB have droped AVI XVID
and now using bloody h264 which doesnt work on dvd players like ROWA
or my new little usb tv out gadget .
Ohh BTW H264 sucks the big time
Looks like theirs a niche market for a new fansub group to pickup
the slack and offer AVI XVID fansubs of bleach and Naturo
in 175 meg FULL SCREEN 4:3 format.
Cross fingers and toes in hope that SD can come to the rescue

Rave Master ( also Called Groove Adventure Rave) is an anime series that is based off manga
it came out in Asian in 2001 to 2002 . USA redub Release (2004) , UK gets USA redub (2004)
Australia . Who knows if its even going to be aired/sold here in ASIAN content format not
crapy USA english redubs. I checked Madman they dont even list it .
The Asian Studio behind this anime is Studio_Deen , the same company that did
Amaenaideyo! , Fruits Basket , Getbackers , Read or Die (OAV) ,
Samurai Deeper Kyo and Yumeria and Cowboy beop Movie (not the series)

Info:
This anime is about a 16 year old boy named Haru Glory
and his snow-dog/animal named Plue.
One day, Haru was fishing and he pulled Plue out of the water.
Plue becomes his guide as he goes on a journey to become a Rave Master!
Haru fights his first enemy and his sword, Ten Powers, gets broken.
![]()
So he and Plue goes from Garage island to Hip Hop Town and Punk Street
in search of Galein Musica, the legendary blacksmith.
Plue gets kidnapped by Georco, a thug from a gang called Demon Card in
Hip Hop Town.
Plue is than entered in a dog race. Elie, a girl they meet who has no memories,
helps Haru rescue him without knowing it. Then she takes the two to Punk Street
where they meet Musica. Many adventures will start from there.

Note:
The series ends at episode 51 even though the story is left hanging.
This is simply because Studio Deen never finished it.
The manga went longer and finished the story .

Found some new good anime series to watch this month (April 2007) , also
came across some new CRAP series that I wont mention since I have seen lots of blogs
talk about them instead . As always I am getting the XVID AVI Fansub encodes with
Asian AUDIO and english fansubs built into the file . So onto the new cool anime ....
Sola
Sola is another manga to anime series , its another one of these 12 ep series which I try to avoid
since its too short . Sola only started airing in Japan in early April 2007 , so its pretty new.
Sola is about a single school guy who has a weird camera fetish with taking pictures of the sky
He has a childhood female friend , sick sister in hospital which has red eyes and blue hair
.Then he comes across a new girl that he only see's at night time and she is violent towards
electrical goods and vending machines and admits to him , that she isnt human but infact undead
Now im not 100% sure she is a vampire , but she maybe something else since she hasn't sucked
anyones blood , but shes cute and hates daylight . Of course the childhood friend can smell other
female getting his attention as does the sister and things get good at this point .
Lunaranime are doing the fansub encodes , they did the Bleach encodes until a while ago
now DB do the Bleach ones and they dont work on the ROWA dvd player (BOO) .
They are in AVI XVID codec format , in Wide screen (boo give me Full Screen dammt)
If this series was AU$25 to AU$55 in asian format WITH OUT american audio added
in DVD boxset I would consider getting it legit . But as it is I cant find any legit anime retailer
that license's anime off the asian companys direct in Australia without american audio.
Here is some pics from other reviews on it :

BLACK LAGOON - The Second Barrage (2006)
No of eps: 12
Offical Site: http://www.blacklagoon.jp/
Info: Sequal to Black Lagoon (2006)
Black Lagoon is the name of a Japanese manga and an anime tv series created by Rei Hiroe. The story follows a team of mercenaries known as Lagoon Company, who smuggle goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia. Their base of operations is located in the city of Roanapura in Thailand, and they transport goods in the PT boat Black Lagoon. Lagoon Company does business with various clients, but has a particularly friendly relationship with the Russian crime syndicate Hotel Moscow. The team takes on a variety of missions - which may involve violent firefights, hand-to-hand combat, and nautical battles - in various locations of Southeast Asia. The members of Lagoon Company spend much of their down time at The Yellow Flag, a bar in Roanapura.
Black Lagoon premiered at the Tokyo International Anime Fair in March 2006 and began airing on 8 April 2006 in Japan, the series airing its final episode on 24 June that year. The second season (called Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage), started airing in Japan on the 2nd of October, 2006. It has been licensed for release in North America by Geneon Entertainment.
I have been thinking about what life would be like in Japan .
In Australia , geeks and nerds often will visit each other at night time ,
we like to watch Anime and tv shows at night time .
Some people like to do chores at night time , like clothes washing , cooking , cleaning , etc
Do they have 24 hour 7-11 type shops open at night time , or do they even have a shop like
coles or woolies that is open at night ??
Do their trains and bus's still go at night time ...
So many questions
