GTA "4" for PC (Windows) 'OFFICALY' annouced by Rockstar
No surpise its on PC
the amount of people asking for it on the PC
and the unconfirmed email that a website sent
to ask them about the non working PC edition recently.
Good thing about GTA 4 PC
- Its coming on x86 PC's
- Gives the user the freedom to
use KEYBOARD and mouse
- They added BACK Multiplayer
(GTA 1 had had MP built in) , GTA 2 had MP built in)
- Online only multiplayer cross platform play
Bad thing about GTA 4 PC
- it took so long
- its bound to be a console port
- it may have crappy colors on console
- it uses Windows Games Live
(gay online account stuff , wont work on Win2000)
- no LAN cross platform with PC/PS3/Xbox360
- no cross platform mentioned with PS3's only Xbox360
Things GTA 4 PC AU edition needs
- NOT to be reduced or features cut like console AU copies
- Needs to be over 18 + only game (above reason)
-
Needs to offer a proper Seperate Stand Alone Dedicated Server for Lan
parties/ISPS/CLANS to host dedicated servers without a copy of the game
- Needs to support Spilt screen PC like console games have been hoging that side of things

By the looks of the official (finally) announcement of
Red Alert 3 http://www.ea.com/redalert/press_release.jsp
I am going to say its going to be crap which is a shame
Red Alert 1 (PC) and Red Alert 2 (PC) are GREAT FUN games .
Releasing a RTS on a console is a BAD IDEA it will only result
in watered down game play , slower movement and
reduced multi player player amount.
If you look at all the other game series that EA games
have ruined over the years its no surpirse that this series
would get effected as well.
I supported buying Red Alert 1 and 2 and one of the exp packs
I doubt Ill support Red Alert 3 (PC)
co-operative campaign play is something that a LOT OF PEOPLE
wanted with Red Alert 1 and 2 its a shame it took this long to add it.
With the watered down process are they going to downgrade
from 8 players in Multiplayer to 4 or actually shock gamers
and increase it to 12 or 16
A standalone dedicated server is a must . I remember playing
RA2 games from Friday night to Sunday (yes the same game
session with sleep/eat breaks) the game would slow RIGHT
down after a while.
I guess only time will tell with the leak of the beta (no doubt it will be leaked)
and the release of the Demo and retail

For anyone that has never played Red Alert 1 or Red Alert 2 on PC I suggest getting it
trying it out before playing Red Alert 3 gets released
Some pics of Red Alert 2:

Halo 2 the Nov 2004 FPS on a console using Joypad has now been ported to
Windows Vista in June 2007. Thats right newbies those great Halo 2 Xbox1 game of 2004
and those advanced Xbox1 graphics on your DirectX 10 Windows Vista PC only,
no Windows XP/2000/2003 support for this game. Released in USA on 01 June 2007.
The game was ported by a small team at Microsoft Game Studios (codenamed Hired Gun)
who worked closely with Bungie Studios. On December 7, 2006, Microsoft visited IGN and
revealed plans, as part of their Games for Windows brand campaign, to have Halo 2 be playable
from disc via streaming during its own PC installation. (gee dont a lot of games do that already)
Microsoft calls this streaming technology Tray & Play and claims that players will
be able to start the game within two minutes of placing it into their DVD drives.
(Well thats vista for you wait 2 mins to load an app/game)
This behavior attempts to mirror the experience of console gaming (where no installation is required)
(Great now console gaming is going to ruin PC gaming more , like console sales hasnt done that already)
and is unique in the PC market to date ( NO you can run lot of games portable)
It was announced that Halo 2 for Windows Vista would be in stores before the end of 2006,
but this was pushed back due to the push of the Windows Vista launch into 2007.
Also announced was an exclusive map editor that will allow players to create custom content
(Since no mouse added to consoles to use a map editor maybe ??)
